Journalists, bloggers, civil society activists and public affairs specialists can apply for this fellowship.
The Asfari Fellowship, offered by the Chatham House and the Asfari Foundation, offers civil society leaders from the Middle East the opportunity to develop their understanding, ideas and approaches on the most pressing challenges facing the Arab world.
The fellowships are open to individuals who are resident citizens of Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria, and displaced citizens of these countries living elsewhere in the Middle East.
The candidates will be offered a comprehensive 12-month program of activities at the institute, and will work toward producing a Chatham House publication from their research. Two levels of fellowships are available: Asfari fellowships and Asfari senior fellowships.
The regional themes that the candidates will tackle in the program include: political economy in the Arab world and the drivers for change; the new developments in civil society and security and the impact of youth and generational change in the MENA region; and security cultures, human security and gender and security in the Middle East.
The deadline is May 31.
