Journalists can participate in a webinar on how to improve vaccine coverage

Join a webinar to learn about covering an important health issue: vaccines. The webinar is part of ICFJ’s story contest recognizing the best coverage of vaccines and immunizations.
You can hear two of ICFJ’s Knight International Journalism Fellows – Brenda Wilson (in English for Africa and Pakistan) or Mariam Sami (in Arabic for the Gulf States) – talk to a health expert about vaccine-related issues including public attitudes towards vaccination, testing of vaccines, innovative approaches to delivery of vaccines and the efficacy or failure of vaccination campaigns.
Anyone can participate in these hour-long webinars by visiting ICFJ’s Google Plus page. If you have a Gmail account, you can hear the discussion and text in questions and comments. If you have a different email account, you can email your questions and comments to vaccinestories-africa@icfj.org for Africa, vaccinestories-pakistan@icfj.org for Pakistan or vaccinestories-gulf@icfj.org for the Gulf states.
The webinars will be live:
Journalists who submit stories about vaccines to ICFJ’s story contest will have a chance to win a trip to the United States or cash prizes. The awards will recognize the best media coverage of vaccines and immunizations in each region.
Stories published or broadcast between March 15 and May 15, 2013, which includes World Immunization Week (April 24-30), will qualify. The deadline for submitting stories is May 20, 2013.
Winners will be announced on July 1, 2013. Please post stories you enter on Twitter and use the hashtag
