Journalists who cover issues related to the European Union can participate in this contest.
The AsociaciĆ³n de Periodistas Europeos, in partnership with office of the European Parliament and the Representation of the European Commission, announces the 19th edition of the Salvador de Madariaga European Journalist Award.
The award seeks to recognize the best journalistic pieces that have highlighted the core values, common realities and advanced projects of the European Union through the press, radio and television.
Journalist associations, media outlets, journalism schools and professionals in the humanities can nominate candidates for each of the three categories: press, radio and television.
The entries must have been published in one of the official languages of Spain to be eligible.
Applications must include work samples and the resume of the candidate.
The winner will receive a cash prize of EUR€9,000 (roughly US$11,700).
