The United Nations is seeking a communications officer for its Department for General Assembly and Conference Management.
Job responsibilities include the implementation of information programs; development of public relations outreach strategy; identifying and cultivating new sources of potential funding; and promoting media coverage.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years' progressively responsible experience in the area(s) of public information, communication, training, administration or human resources at the international level. Experience in developing and maintaining websites is desirable, as is experience in conference services.
Advanced degree in communications, journalism, public relations, human resources, management, administration or other related area is preferred. A first-level university degree, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience, may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
