Investigative journalism contest open Africa

Investigative journalists in Africa can apply for a grant.
The Forum for African Investigative Reporters (FAIR) is accepting applications for the 2013 African Investigative Journalism Grants Fund.
Supported by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), the fund's objective is to allow media outlets in Africa to act as watchdogs over actions of governments and special-interest groups.
The program offers 40 grants of US$ 1,000 each, which are meant for expenses only. An advisory committee will extend these grants to deserving journalists who cannot find time and resources to follow up on important stories.
Those who are interested can send email applications to grantsATfairreporters.org, or complete the online application form here.
The application deadline is Feb. 27.
